Valkyrie backpack

This was the Christmas present that I made for my bro, just what he asked for, an airplane backpack, lol Apparently its a specific 'valkyrie' backpack worn by a character in the Macross Frontier anime. He gave me some screenshots and I went from there, I've not actually seen the show myself. I think if you Googled macross frontier backpack you could probably find a picture. It is SUCH an adorable backpack!

It was difficult to decide how to make it rigid enough to maintain its form, I used some 'craft' interfacing and its holding up well so far. The wings are stuffed to keep their shape, while the fuselage forms the main compartment. The cockpit is a small pocket.

Materials: mid-weight cotton/poly blend fabric, fabric dye, iron-on 'craft' interfacing, lightweight cotton (lining), felt (red area), random blueish cotton print (cockpit), fabric paint (crescent logos), yellow zippers, blue nylon(?) straps, strap adjustors, thread (duh), patience. That should be about it...

I'm not sure if this qualifies as fan art, but I shall say that the backpack design was almost entirely drawn from screenshots of the Macross Frontier anime by Satelight Inc. (studio), I have no idea who actually designed the backpack
